"Tabernacling"
Three weeks ago we began a series on “Truths from the Tabernacle” with our two Wednesday Bible Study Groups at BBC. Many are not able to attend due to their involvement in the various ministries taking place during those times. I have been asked to post these studies on our website. Since we do not video the Wednesday Studies I will take a devotional approach from this series for upcoming daily posts. I pray the coming devotions from this subject will serve as a wonderful source of encouragement and insight.
The Tabernacle was built by the Israelites during the wilderness journey. The amount of information God has given us in the Scripture concerning the Tabernacle reveal the importance of that structure. More chapters are given to the Tabernacle than any other subject in the Holy Writ. God’s information and instruction are given in 13 chapters of the Book of Exodus,18 chapters in Leviticus, 13 chapters in Numbers, 2 chapters in Deuteronomy, and 4 chapters in Hebrews. This amounts to 50 chapters on this subject alone. With so much information given to the Tabernacle, we must admit it’s importance to the heart of God.
God told Moses to have the people, “make me a sanctuary; that I may dwell among them.” (Exodus 25:8). Here is the heart of God. He desires to “dwell” with people. This is the central truth to the gospel message. Christianity is not about religion. It is all about a relationship.
During the days of the wilderness God dwelt “among” His people in the Tabernacle. In this age of grace, which we have the privilege of living, God dwells “in” His people. Romans 8:9 says, “But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.” This is what the Bible means by being “born again of the Spirit.”
Today is January 31. I pray every reader has been born again of the Spirit. Proof of the rebirth is that God is “tabernacling” in you.
Blessings,
Jim

This is very exciting. My daily Bible readings have me right smack in the middle of God's instructions in Exodus. How great that it will all fit together. (God's plan?!)
