Daily Lift

“Thou shalt also make a table of shittim wood: two cubits shall be the length thereof, and a cubit the breadth thereof, and a cubit and a half the height thereof.”  (Exodus 25:23).

Where is your Bible right now?  I see Bibles in all kinds of places.  Many Sundays Bibles are left in the church building.  We have a special place to put Bibles so the owners can easily find them.  Some Bibles have been there for months.  Stopped at red lights, I have seen Bibles resting in the back window of an automobile.  Makes me wonder if that is it’s resting place from Sunday to Sunday.

The Table of Shewbread was built for the Shewbread.  It measured 3 feet long by 1 ½ feet wide which made it just large enough to hold the bread.  Access was easy because it was always in the same place.  But the height is what is really interesting - 27 inches high.  This was no table for sitting.  The only way to come to this table was to kneel, revealing the approach we are to take to the Word of God.  Kneeling is the position of humility and admittance of need.   James 4:10 says, “Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up.”

Do you need a daily lift?  Here is the recipe!  Make sure your Bible is accessible.  Read it daily.  Approach it with humility and you will be lifted up!

Today is April 28.  Do you know where your Bible is?

Blessings,

Jim
