Obliged to Obey

“As they ministered to the Lord, and fasted, the Holy Ghost said...”  (Acts 13:2)

What is it that keeps a man in right fellowship with the LORD where he experiences the fulness of the “love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance”?  It begins with taking the time to “minister to the LORD.”  This is accomplished as the believer serves the LORD in His Kingdom.  Jesus said, “Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.”  Right fellowship also requires us to spend time with the LORD through prayer.  The early apostles were so diligent in their fellowship with the LORD that they were willing to abstain from food to get closer to Him.  Drawing nigh unto the LORD through prayer increases the sensitivity to His voice and the believer is able to hear the Holy Ghost say.  Once the voice of the Holy Ghost is heard there is only one acceptable response - that is to obey.  Obedience is the pathway to deeper intimacy with the LORD. Once we hear we must obey or else we can go no further in our walk with Him.

Today is July 29.  What is the last thing the LORD has told you to do?  Do it.

Blessings,

Jim
