Full Boats

“And they came, and filled both the ships, so that they began to sink.”  (Luke 5:7)

Never make the mistake of thinking the Christian life is one of rules and regulations.  It is a relationship that brings exceeding joy.  Simon had toiled all night and caught nothing.  Then Jesus invites him to launch into the deep and cast his net....a simple invitation.  Simon’s choice was to obey or not.  That is it.  No rules.  No regulations.  He chose to obey and his nets were so full of fish that his own boat could not hold them.  He hollered for help from a friend who came and both boats could hardly carry the fish.  Can you imagine the expression on the face of Jesus as the rim of the boats touched the surface of the water?  His smile had to have been radiant as He watched the empty boats suddenly overflow.  All it took for this happen was for Simon to say, “Yes.”  How simple is that?

Are you looking to hear an invitation from the Savior today?  Where will He have you cast your net? All it takes to sail in a full boat is a simple “Yes.”

Today is July 31.  Yes fills the boat.

Blessings,

Jim
