Moment of Rapture
“For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.” (1 Thessalonians 4:16-17)
Moments make differences! There is a moment of monumental proportion on the horizon. It is the moment Christ calls His saints to heaven. Paul said in I Corinthians that this event will happen “in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye.” Many in our culture mock this truth. I was watching MSNBC the other night and the commentators were scoffing churches who hold to the belief of the rapture of the church. The LORD forewarned us it would be this way...”Know this first of all, that in the last days mockers will come with their mocking, following after their own lusts, and saying, ‘Where is the promise of His coming?’“ (2 Peter 3:3-4). The sad truth is the scoffers will be left behind. But glory awaits those who have trusted in the Lord Jesus. Cemeteries will erupt In that moment as the dead in Christ will be raised from the dead. Christians will be raptured in that moment as Christ calls the living home to be with Him forever. The great reunion will take place as believers will rejoice in the majesty of Christ our Savior. We need to pay attention in these days of economic turmoil, devastating earthquakes, killer storms, wars and rumors of wars, the resurrection of the Russian Bear, open threats against the existence of Israel, increased famines, etc. Jesus said it would be this way just before He comes. Only heaven knows the moment Christ is coming to rapture His people home. But rest assured, that moment will come.
Today is September 19. One morning this devotional blog will be no more. Will you awaken to read it or be caught up with the saints to heaven?
Blessings,
Jim
