The Kinship of God

And He said, “A man had two sons. The younger of them said to his father...”  (Luke 15:11)

Last week I had the wonderful privilege of being with a lady when she placed her faith in Jesus Christ as her Savior. There is nothing like being present when this happens.  She told me just before she prayed that her head was full of the knowledge of Jesus but her heart was empty of the presence of Jesus.  Once she prayed to receive Christ her heart became full.  Why?  Because she was brought into a relationship with the LORD.  She had been birthed into the family of God and experienced the “Kinship of God.”  Wonderful truth!   Salvation brings us into a Father/child relationship.  “What manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God?”  God is no longer “the man upstairs” or “the supreme being.”  He becomes “Our Father.”  Oh, the love that is shared by Him.   Oh, the relationship that is to be enjoyed with Him.  Oh, the conversation we can have with Him.  We can go to our Father as we would our own daddy.  Our Father loves this relationship.  He loves to hear our voice.  He loves for us to visit with Him.  Has He heard your voice today?  Has his heart been blessed by your visit?

Today is September 29.  Are you enjoying your kinship with God?

Blessings,

Jim
