“In everything give thanks; for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus.”  (1 Thessalonians 5:18)

Most of us have made or will make a Christmas list.  Have we made our Thanksgiving list?  Here is a little acrostic using the word THANKS to assist us with such a list:

T - Things.  That’s right, things.  The Bible says we are to give thanks in every - thing.  We possess a lot of things!  All of these possessions are gifts from the LORD.  Give Him thanks.

H - Health.  In just a moment I am going out for a run.  I went to the doctor the other day and he said my LDL was a bit high so I must once again get more disciplined with my exercise.  We need to be thankful for our health.

A - Acquaintances - These will include everyone the LORD has placed in our lives - family and friends.  Relationships with others are such a blessing.

N - New Day - This is the day the LORD has made.  Let’s rejoice and be glad in it.  Yesterday is gone and today offers new opportunities!

K - Knowledge - Think of all we have been able to learn this past year that we did not know.  We need top be thankful for everything the LORD allows us to know about Him and the world in which He allowed us to live.

S - Salvation - How grateful we should be for the privilege of the personal relationship we have with the God of Heaven and Earth through personal salvation!

Today is November 25.  Be sure to give thanks in everything.
