The SAVIOR Is Born!

“Behold, I bring you good news of great joy which will be for all the people; for today in the city of David there has been born for you a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.”  (Luke 2:10-11)

Christmas is the day of Good News which brings great joy for everyone.  This is because the greatest gift of all has been made available for all men.  The Savior has been born who is Christ.  Notice, Jesus was born Savior.  Men do not make Him Savior.  He is Savior.  Men must simply submit to the Lord Jesus as Savior.  He, being born Savior, points to the truth that men need a Savior.  But saved from what?  Sin!  The Savior was born to all people because all people are in sin.  “All have sinned and come short of the glory of God.”  Can sin be defined with one word that all may understand?  I think so.  How about “rebellion”?  That is the root of sin.  It was rebellion against God that caused Satan to be cast from heaven.  It was rebellion against God that caused Adam and Eve to partake in the forbidden fruit.  And it is rebellion that causes man to refuse to accept Jesus as Savior.  “All we like sheep have gone astray.  We have turned everyone to our own way.”  It’s rebellion! What is the opposite of rebellion?  Submission!  There has never been, nor will there ever be the true Christmas experience without submitting to Christ as Savior.  Christ has been born.  Has He been born in you?

Today is December 25.  The Savior is born.  Happy Birthday Jesus!!

Blessings,

Jim
