The New Normal

“Now after Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judea....”  (Matthew 2:1)

Lourie and I took down, packed up, and stored our Christmas decorations last night.  The house is “back to normal” and the “look” of Christmas is no more until next year.  We have celebrated the birth of Jesus.  Now what?  Is it over?  The Scripture says, “Now after Jesus was born...”  After Jesus was born there was a “new normal.”  Things would never be the same again...ever.  God had come to earth in human form.  Man can meet God, be forgiven by God, be cleansed by God, be transformed by God, have a relationship with God.  Why, even the way we keep time changed with the coming of Jesus.  We are about to enter “The Year of Our Lord, 2009.”  There is a “new normal.”  Now that Christmas is over and life returns to “normal”, what does that mean in your life?  Will you continue to celebrate Jesus?  Will you continue to love Jesus, walk with Jesus, commune with Jesus, grow in Jesus, serve Jesus, live for Jesus, witness of Jesus?  Once we really experience the Jesus of Christmas, we live in the “new normal.”  Are you living in the “new normal?”

Today is December 30.  What is normal to you?

Blessings,

Jim
